I am not a fan of overly mass produced art or home decor. I like the idea of having a unique piece of art in my home rather than something that is in every home down the block. There are so many talented artists in the world that deserve a chance to show the world what they can do but never get the chance because of mass production. What you purchase or make homemade becomes something you treasure and appreciate more and may even pass down through your family.

4. I have come to and enjoy making every gift and card that I give.
What got you started crafting?
I have been crafting since I was a little girl in elementary school. I would always be in my moms craft bin getting my ideas out whether that be making book covers or creating ghosts out of cotton balls. This need to create continued into college when I was able to create new art for my dorm rooms and first apartments. Now that I am recently married and have my full time dream job my spare time is all about being able to create the ideas I dream up during the day. I made so many fun things for my friends recently that I was able to open my first etsy store. Through running this small store and feeling the desire to continuously add new items my creativity has hit an all time high. I am realizing how much stronger I become in creating new ideas that I am now excited to see what my future in crafting holds.
What is your source of inspiration?
Recycling. I like to reuse items and make art or design out of them. I think it adds personality to each part of your home and you are guaranteed that no one else will have an item just like yours. It also is helping our environment and our economy. When we use the items we already have instead of buying "new" it makes it keeps our planet healthier for the future generations.
What have you made recently?
I recently made a set of four magnets that have cupcake sayings on them such as "I love cupcakes" and "I never met a cupcake I didn't like". I took regular bottlecaps and painted the backs of them a very girlie pink. I then sealed them to make sure they would be nice and shiny as well as attaching a super strong magnet to the back. I then attached the images and sealed that as well to make sure the image would never fade. I love these cupcake magnets because they are so girlie yet they make a statement.
Where do you sell your crafts presently?
I sell my crafts through my Etsy store. This is my new little store opened February 7th of this year. The name is after my great dane named Softail. I added many items as soon as the store opened but I made sure that each item I added was something I would be proud to own myself.
Why are handmade crafts important to you?
I am not a fan of overly mass produced art or home decor. I like the idea of having a unique piece of art in my home rather than something that is in every home down the block. There are so many talented artists in the world that deserve a chance to show the world what they can do but never get the chance because of mass production.
