I am an excellent cook.

What got you started crafting?

My Dad did leather work, boots, hats, belts, so "making" things was something I grew up with.



What is your source of inspiration?

Everything inspires me! I always carry a sketchbook. I live in Michigan's upper Peninsula. Being surrounded by so much beauty is always inspiring! I once had to wait as a moose slowly crossed the road in front of my car! And yes, he did end up as a painting!



What have you made recently?

I've done several paintings of Johnny Depp recently. He has great features to sketch and paint and always has a sparkle in his eyes that I love trying to capture.
For me, when I paint a portrait or wildlife, I always start with the eyes and create the rest of the painting around that.
It is the eyes that give "life" and "personality" to a painting.
It is the eyes that you notice first in the Johnny Depp painting.





Where do you sell your crafts presently?

I recently opened a shop on Etsy. I am a member of our local Artist Market and have displays in several galleries.



Why are handmade crafts important to you?

Handmade items are made with heart and soul. I love supporting other artists and artisans and being part of their dream.
