What got you started crafting?
I've loved woodworking since high school, I moved away from doing it because I had some other ideas. I learned of Sam Maloof bought his book and fell in love. I have not looked back and now design and build custom wooden rocking chair and tables in his style of organic lines, exposed joinery and sculpted everything.
What is your source of inspiration?
Sam Maloof his furniture and his ideas about life and wood.
What have you made recently?
I'm currently working on a double rocking chair for a wedding gift. We will be carving the wedding invitations cover and the date of the wedding with our personal signature on the underside of the seat. The chair it self has a hand sculpted seat that is built with Brazilian lace wood sandwiched between walnut, when carved the lace wood is exposed.
Where do you sell your crafts presently?
I sell my pieces through my web site, local stores and galleries. I prefer to work directly with my customer to make the piece as unique a fitting as I can.
Why are handmade crafts important to you?
We choose hand made because we want each piece to absorb the memories of it owner and to have those memories live on through it next owner, and next owner....etc.....
