I’ve been obsessed with making cards lately. So that’s what I’ve been making….cards. Greeting Cards. Birthday Cards. Thank you cards. Baby show invites.

What got you started crafting?
I love anything that makes my soul spin and itches my mind. Anything art related has always done that for me. Whether it's photography, painting, knitting, paper goods. I love it all. I've always been making things since I could get my hands on a pair of scissors but what got me doing it full time is graduate school. A phd is a full time job. It's consuming in every imaginable way....so I needed an outlet outside of academia. Crafting allows me to have my own space that didn't revolve around deadlines, papers, research, books, all of which are under a constant microscope for improvement and perfection. Making things allows me to be well, me. No judgement but my own.
What is your source of inspiration?
Everything. Yes, it's a cliche but really, everything. My mind is running at break neck speed 24/7.
What have you made recently?
I've been obsessed with making cards lately. So that's what I've been making....cards. Greeting Cards. Birthday Cards. Thank you cards. Baby show invites.
I love color so all my cards lately have been bod colors and patterns. I also love layers and embellishments. It's the little details that I enjoy adding to my work, whether it's stitching or scalloped edges.
Where do you sell your crafts presently?
I sell my things on etsy.
Why are handmade crafts important to you?
Why note handmade? There's something intoxicating owning something that someone poured their heart into opposed to some item a machine shoots out. I'm just big on local and handmade items in general. You're helping people do what they enjoy so I just can't see any wrong scenario.
