Modern but a bit eclectic.

Graphic designer by day, parallel parking guru by night, Faith shares her sewing tutorials and custom treasures. If you love sewing, she has fashionable styles for a night on the town or a fancy brunch with the girls!

Random Facts About You?

I always have way too many tabs open on my web browser. Right now I have 24.
I love to parallel park, preferably on the left.
I grew up in Vermont but winter is my least favorite season.
I really hate Fritos.... they are the one food that I absolutely will not eat.

What got you started crafting?

I grew up in a very creative household - my mom taught art and handwork at the local schools, so we always had arts and crafts projects spread all over the kitchen table. My first sewing project was a scrunchy (it WAS the 80's, after all) and I've been sewing ever since. And crafting. And designing. And doing photography. And the list goes on....

What is your source of inspiration?

The internet is a constant source of inspiration. I'm a very visual person, so I love perusing Pinterest and all of the blogs that I have in my Google Reader (it's dangerously close to 100 different blogs). I also love creative magazines - one of my favorites is Communication Arts.

What have you made recently?

I just designed a new shirt, a top with an asymmetrical hemline and a lace inlay down the back. Now I'm in the process of taking photographs of the piece, and next I will create the tutorial. The tutorial is half the fun - it's a fun challenge to create a clear, informative how-to while still maintaining my clean, modern design aesthetic. I'm a graphic designer by day, so everything has to LOOK good :)

Where do you sell your crafts presently?

I sell my sewing tutorials on Etsy and Craftsy. I also sell paper goods and downloadables on Etsy and my own blog, Design Fixation. I'm also beginning to sell my sewing tutorials as automatic downloads on my Big Cartel page: http://sewingfixation.bigcartel.com/

Why are handmade crafts important to you?

I prefer handmade because it has that personal touch that other products don't have. There are so many creative people out there!
