I’m inspired by all the beauty in nature. I love the vibrant colors and textures and I try to incorporate that into all my pieces. My designs can go from whimsical to elegant, but there’s always a piece of the outdoors in them.
I have a female dog named after a male cat.
I'm allergic to onions.
I'm addicted to reality television.
I love bubble baths.
What got you started crafting?
The artistic gene runs in my family. I learned to crochet at 5 and made scarves and potholders that year for Christmas presents for my family. Then my interest turned to drawing. I had sketchbooks full of famous people's faces and I loved when people would look through them and know instantly who the subject was. Over the years I've experimented with many different mediums, but jewelry designing is my true love.
What is your source of inspiration?
I'm inspired by all the beauty in nature. I love the vibrant colors and textures and I try to incorporate that into all my pieces. My designs can go from whimsical to elegant, but there's always a piece of the outdoors in them.
What have you made recently?
I'm currently working on a new line of post earrings sets. They will be flower earrings in sets of three that will coordinate with some of my hair pin sets, with fun color schemes for spring and summer .
I love the idea of coordinating pieces because it keeps the entire line cohesive while giving the customer the ability to mix and match. I'm particularly excited about these sets because I think they'll be the perfect everyday earrings for summer.
Where do you sell your crafts presently?
I have a retail shop on Etsy and I wholesale to boutiques and salons across the country. I also do home shows when time permits.
Why are handmade crafts important to you?
I think there's something so special about having a handmade item. I love being able to tell people about the amazing handmade goods I've purchased and where they can find them. Knowing that human hands lovingly created something I now use/wear is a great feeling.
