Handmade items are so much more meaningful. Most of the high end boutiques I shop at all have hand made items, and those were the items I would always gravitate towards.

Random Facts About You?1. The only sewing class I have taken was in Highschool for one semester.
2. I only Like to design one thing, and dread re-creating it. In a perfect world I would be the designer and had others who would re-create my ideas over and over and over again!
3.<3 The beach is my escape while my kids are inspiration.
4.My Mother is my BFF.
5. I should probably add Rockstar Recovery to my payroll because without it I would get nothing done! :)
What got you started crafting?
I have always loved to craft but never had the time. As a little girl I remember cross stitching with my mom, doing the latch hook thing, then as I got older I made copious amounts of friend ship bracelets and beaded bracelets. I would always think of ways I could make money off making each item, but never did. Early into my 20's I entered into Corporate America, where I stayed for about 10 years, and when the economy tanked well so did my income. I started up Born Platinum never imagining it would take off as it has. My goal was to be at farmers markets once a week, but I have been so busy with the website orders and facebook fans I can not find the time to keep anything in stock! Born Platinum has also been featured in several boutiques here in the Orange County Area which is always exciting! I never imagined I would have over 10,000 facebook fans ever! I love being able to be home with the kids and work. Although sometimes I pull all nighters and never get a good night sleep I would not change it for the world. I am very lucky and blessed to have the amazing following that I do and could not be where I am without them!
What is your source of inspiration?
Hands down my hubby and children are my inspiration. I would not be working my tail off if it was not for them. I love what I do and will do anything to be able to make my own hours so I dont miss a thing! Dont get me wrong at times I am dying from exhaustion but the family steps up to help where and when needed. My Mother is another huge inspiration without her I would not be where I am today. I am hoping when she retires she will dive in head first with Born Platinum and I.
What have you made recently?
I would have to say I am quite obsessed with my Velcro Neck Ties. I have a little guy, just 9 months old, once i found out I was preggers I switched from making mainly girly items to mostly boy items. It is so hard to find the style I love so I decided to create it myself... :) My heart and soul goes into all my designs.
Where do you sell your crafts presently?
I currently only sell online through my website and have many sales through our facebook fan page.

I think with the economy the way it is, rather then sitting back and feeling sorry for myself for not being able to find a good paying job, or any job for that matter, I took matters in my own hands and created something that I am in love with.
