AnnMarie started out as an oil painter, dabbled in 2D and 3D animation and ended with an MFA in Electronic Art, so it’s no wonder that she has a knack for creativity! Her jewelry (and especially her Glow art!) are eye-catching.
I used to work at DreamWorks Animation.
I have a BFA and MFA.
I have 3 beautiful cats.
Chocolate is a food group.
What got you started crafting?
I have been an artist my entire life.
I started out as an oil painter, then figure drawing, then 2D animation, then 3D animation and ending with my MFA in electronic art.
I am originally from the Chicagoland area. (rock on, da Bears!) During my BFA & MFA pursues, I also worked part time at a fabric store. And did some amazing prom/wedding dresses in my younger days.
Since then, I have chased and accomplished my childhood dreams. Now, I am looking to accomplish another dream with this shop!
The ElectronicGirl stop came into existence from a gift I made for a former boyfriend back in the day. Every thing else has spun off from that prototype. And my products keep evolving and changing as time goes on.
...and Steven Colbert should run for the Prez cuz he is the shiznits. ;)
What is your source of inspiration?
anything and everything.... O.o
interesting photographs...nature....tech stuff...whatever tickles my fancy. :D
What have you made recently?
The newest additions I have made are my new Rainbow Snail line of figurines. They are only available at my Etsy location currently. (www.etsy.com/shop/ElectronicGirl) Hopefully in the near future I will be able to get them on my direct site too.
I am also working on writing two children's books using my FantasyCrab and Rainbow Snail character lines. I am planning to make the stories bullying. It appears to becoming a major issue in our young peoples lives and the effects of childhood bullying are taking a toll on our greater society.
Where do you sell your crafts presently?
Currently, my products are only available online. I am on a variety of handmade marketplaces:
Etsy, zibbet, goodsmith and others.
my first craft show is in march in maitland, fl. :D
Why are handmade crafts important to you?
because handmade rocks!
All of my products are original concepts or characters. And each object I create has an enormous amount of attention to detail and time in it. I feel that kind of care for each piece makes them have a personal touch. Each customer that purchases one of my products gets a small piece of my time, effort, ingenuity, innovation and creativity!
