Feminine and Modern Handmade Jewelry

in Featured Crafters, Handmade, Jewelry on 24/08/10

There’s something very soothing about the process of making something by hand. I love the rhythm and the creativity I get to have over this little world I create.

Peggy Li

Random Facts About You?

I was a Chemical Engineering major at UC Berkeley.

I once worked as a hair model.

I love playing golf.

I am a huge Star Trek fan.

What got you started crafting?

I've always loved arts and crafts. Jewelry was a fun way to make handmade gifts for friends and to make myself pieces that I couldn't afford to buy in the store.

What is your source of inspiration?

Nature, fashion and the materials I work with.

What have you made recently?

I love my "Fly Free" Necklace. It's a combination of 3 charms, a bird, a bird cage, and a key charm. It's put together as if the bird has escaped from the cage, and it can symbolize so many things to different people. I hope it inspires people to go for their dreams.

Where do you sell your crafts presently?

I sell my handmade jewelry mostly through my website. I also do a farmer's market in the summer in Burlingame, CA. I used to do more craft shows, but that is tough work!

Why are handmade crafts important to you?

There's something very soothing about the process of making something by hand. I love the rhythm and the creativity I get to have over this little world I create.
