Random Facts About You?

I am a Vegetarian. I Quit my day job and now run my shop Custom Hemp Treasures Full Time! I am living my dream. I am currently in school studying Business.

What got you started crafting?

I have been crafty for as long as I can remember. My parents were both very crafty. They always baked, gardened and made clothing and household items while I was growing up and it rubbed off on me. My father and grandparents all open and ran successful business so that also rubbed off on me.

What is your source of inspiration?

I get inspiration from everything I see all day. Sometimes it will hit me at the most random times. When I go to my local store I pass by a field where cows graze, and it hit me, make a cow bracelet! So i made a hemp black and white bracelet with the word, MOO on it. One of my favorite items! Its so funky and people really respond to that.
I also get alot of inspiration from Love. My main sellers are my couples bracelets. I try to think of new ways for people to show their love for each other.

What have you made recently?

One of my new items is my Mi Casa Tu Casa couples bracelets. My House is Your House in spanish. I include a key ring on the Tu Casa bracelet so that a boyfriend can give his girlfriend the bracelet with a key to his house on it. I think its a great and cute way to ask her to move in with him, or to give her a key to his place. A nice way to show her how much he cares, and a new bracelet for them both to wear!

Where do you sell your crafts presently?

I sell on Etsy as www.customhemptreasures.etsy.com as well as a stand alone website I made at www.customhemptreasures.com

Why are handmade crafts important to you?

Handmade is so important to local economies. I always shop on etsy first for gifts and supplies. Supporting handmade supports families who rely on supporting themselve while making their own crafts. It has always inspired me my whole life to imagine that people can support themselves and not have to work for someone else, that they can work for themselves and support themselves and their families, and now I have joined that movement! I feel so blessed.
