What got you started crafting?
I have always been attracted by colors even before starting making jewelry. I would always find a room to paint in our house or a piece of furniture to decorate in vivid colors.
What started as a relaxing hobby at the beginning developed into a full-blown passion for beads and jewelry. I particularly love Swarovski crystals because of their inner beauty and sparkle. Swarovski crystals have a magical and sparkly quality to them that reflects the beauty of the natural world surrounding us. They can be found in many of my designs.
What is your source of inspiration?
I love making jewelry because I am in love with all the beads in the creation, their shapes, their colors, the way they feel in my hands. The combinations are endless and my style is definitely modern, softened by the multitude of colors I love to integrate in my designs.
My jewelry is fun to wear and joyful : the abundance of colors is meant to reflect and bring out all the good feelings in your heart.
What have you made recently?
I recently made a triple strand necklace (you have the pic of that one in the attachments) with Swarovski crystals and semi-precious gemstones. It is a marvelous piece and I couldn't capture the shine and sparkle of the piece even after taken dozens of pictures. I couldn't stop looking at it and the kaleidoscope of sparkling colors would mesmerize me. When making this piece, i was thinking happy thoughts and it came through.
It is vibrantly colorful, fun, versatile and I had to say goodbuy today and let it go.
Where do you sell your crafts presently?
I have now been making jewelry for many years. I started selling my creations through house parties and local craft fairs. I recently moved my business online on etsy.
Etsy is a wonderful platform where you get to meet creative people from all over the world. Each has his/her own style, inspired by their country of origin, and they all come together in a kaleidoscope of talents.
Why are handmade crafts important to you?
! I believe there is a common misconception out there that cheaper, easier and disposable are virtues worth paying for. The jewelry industry is afflicted by current marketplace trends. If it gets attention and it’s sparkly and cheap, it’ll sell. I think that it is an unfortunate trend. Buying handmade quality items made by artisans is the best chance to get a unique piece that you will love and want to wear again and again.
