About me….. I was born and raised in NY. I went to art school to study illustration. I love soccer, traveling, taking my stuffed cat abby stu with me and having him pose in pictures, craft beers, the farmers market, gardening, cactus, soccer, the trampoline, fabric stores, the arctic…. I want to go a brush a walrus’ tusks!
I think in this day and age, a lot of things are produced by machines. I feel that before the handmade movement really took off, many took handmade for granted.
This might be the most simple, eloquent pro-handmade reason yet: “Handmade has soul.”
Handmade is what we love to do. every step of the way. We’ve sold products made by others but nothing beats the pleasure of designing something beautiful, going through of all the process of actually making it and then seeing it in your hand.
Every so often I see a response in the “Odds and Ends” section of the featured crafter profile that catches my attention. When I create, I put my heart and soul into my designs, so when i buy something handmade, I know the person creating the product I’m buying puts the same heart and soul into their work.
