About me….. I was born and raised in NY. I went to art school to study illustration. I love soccer, traveling, taking my stuffed cat abby stu with me and having him pose in pictures, craft beers, the farmers market, gardening, cactus, soccer, the trampoline, fabric stores, the arctic…. I want to go a brush a walrus’ tusks!
Erin McGill
I spent most of my childhood at the Bronx zoo. I have a whole bunch of animal facts - did you know a group of bears is called a sleuth? turtles breath through their butts...
I like soccer, cactus, accordions, extra large rabbits and socks
What got you started crafting?
My mom was a home ec teacher , I have been making stuff since I can remember, I have always been busy.
What is your source of inspiration?
Everything, my eyes are always open, sometimes too much that I lose my focus and walk into things. I love window shopping, going to museums, watching movies. Some of my favorite artists are: Edward Gorey, Maxfield Parish, Lane smith, and Alexander Calder.
What have you made recently?
A picture book about the circus, currently I am very interested in the circus. It gives me a lot of material with all the animals, textures and characters.
Where do you sell your crafts presently?
On prince street in NYC. Craft fairs and events.
Why are handmade crafts important to you?
The personality that comes through. The environment, less is more, there is so much stuff , and not enough lasting and meaningful products.
