Why are handmade crafts important to you?
Joanna – “I love handmade because each item will be different and unique. Often, I can work with the artist to personalize the item to fit my exact needs. Also, it’s usually created by someone with a passion and love for what they’re doing.”We couldn’t have said it better ourselves!

A couple of my all time favorite movies are Marnie and Rebecca which are lesser known Hitchcock films, but in my opinion the best!
What got you started crafting?
I joined a lapidary club in College and after making my first ring I was hooked.
What is your source of inspiration?
Almost anything. I enjoy the outdoors and often see things in nature I would like to transfer over to jewelry, weather it is an object or just a combination of colors. Also, I admire the work of artist Gustav Klimt.
What have you made recently?
I recently made a Pendant for my Grandmother. She requested something blue and had already seen a Drop pendant of mine that she admired. So I stuck to that shape. First, I marked then sawed out the shape. Then, I used a resist to etch down parts of the Drop pendant to create texture to the piece. After this step I oxidized it in two steps-to create the inside golden color and the outside periwinkle. Next I flush set a periwinkle sapphire into the pendant. Finally all it needed was a bail.
Where do you sell your crafts presently?
I mainly sell to family/friends/people on the street, who happen to like what I'm wearing. I also recently started selling through Etsy.
