I’m constantly thinking about new ideas, so I keep a moleskin notebook with me at all times to sketch. These ideas come from blogs, patterns, nature and books. As a matter a fact, my first collection was inspired by a book of dreams my brother had given me on my birthday.
Leslie Ortiz
I'm currently learning Portuguese on my own, but speak fluent Spanish and a little bit of French.
I Love to travel and have had the opportunity to spend some time in Colombia, Mexico and Ecuador.
I've been also taking some salsa classes and can't live without sunny days. I think It's a Miami thing.
What got you started crafting?
It started in elementary school where I would draw self- portraits, houses and animals during art class. I thought I was pretty good. I went into other art forms in college, majoring in graphic design and making my own jewelry pieces.
What is your source of inspiration?
I'm constantly thinking about new ideas, so I keep a moleskin notebook with me at all times to sketch. These ideas come from blogs, patterns, nature and books. As a matter a fact, my first collection was inspired by a book of dreams my brother had given me on my birthday.
What have you made recently?
I've recently created a stud collection of hearts, Russian dolls and diamonds that go hand in hand with my necklaces. These pieces begin with a sketch that I carefully refine and send to the laser cutter for a one of a kind piece.
Where do you sell your crafts presently?

Why are handmade crafts important to you?
