What got you started crafting?
I have been enthralled by maps since I was very young. I started drawing in college, and then couldn't stop making art. Eventually the two came together.
What is your source of inspiration?
Map books, anatomy books, Maya Lin, drinking tea while thinking about art, watching my husband work on his writing, which motivates me to create.
What have you made recently?
I just finished a sewn map of Manhattan. It's the second map I've created just with sewing - it felt really nice and tactile, in a different way.
Where do you sell your crafts presently?
On Etsy, and sometimes fairs.
Why are handmade crafts important to you?
There's more love and originality in it! I feel better buying handmade, and local too.
