What got you started crafting?
I fell in love with my 8th grade shop class. I knew then that crafting with wood was a part of me. It has not been a priority in my life until recently when I started another business that is seasonal, giving me plenty of free time off season to craft.
What is your source of inspiration?
I love exotic wood, especially burl and spalted woods. When I get a nice piece of wood, it inspires me to find the best way I can show the beauty of the wood.
What have you made recently?
Recently I have made a number of rollerball and fountain pens out of my favorite wood which is Amboyna Burl wood. The grain of the wood is just so incredible that I get very excited to craft and make it beautiful.
Where do you sell your crafts presently?
So far, Etsy has been the venue of choice, but this year I plan to make it to some small fairs and festivals.
Why are handmade crafts important to you?
I feel that the uniqueness of handmade goods is very appealing to many people. The story behind the piece and the adventure finding the piece is much more interesting then going to a store to purchase a product that everyone else owns.
