Keli Catalano
I am an expert at picking things up with my toes.
I love ferry boats.
I could sift through fonts all day long.
I love carrot cake with extra frosting.
What got you started crafting?
I went to school for fashion design, but I took a lot of fun art classes at the same time. I loved laying things out on pages, so of course greeting cards were an obvious choice. It just makes me happy!
What is your source of inspiration?
Lately I've been looking at a lot of vintage scarves, the prints are amazing and truly inspirational. I love the hand-painted looks.
What have you made recently?
I've been playing around with stamping on fabric, for soap packaging. I would love to get a bar of soap in a little pretty cloth bag! I'm also experimenting with stamping on wood veneer. It's lots of fun!
Where do you sell your crafts presently?
I sell on my website, www.colettepaperie.com, and also attend big craft fairs when I can (maybe 2-3 times a year).
Why are handmade crafts important to you?
Oh, let me count the ways. It's so much more interesting than commercial-made. And, it's so much more personal. It's like writing letters. You love to get them.
