I like to support people doing what they love. I know that handmade artists are following their passions, and I want to be a part of that. I like knowing that my item was made by a real person and not a machine. I also like things that are different and not mass produced.

I have two beautiful cats.
I have lived on both coasts of Canada and ended up in between.
I study and work in early child development.
I believe in creativity, inspiration, positivity and the dynamic human spirit.
What got you started crafting?
I've always been intrigued by the infinite possibilities that lie inside of us. I like to put my thoughts and creativity in to something, and feel a true bliss while doing it. I really got in to the handmade movement and wanted to be a part of something I believed in. Knowing that something has been made with passion and not a machine excites me. I like the idea of knowing that I can create something and it will bring somebody joy. I feel like I leave little sparkles of myself when people wear/use what I have created.
What is your source of inspiration?
My main source of inspiration is music. Aside from that it can be anything that I see/experience in day to day life such as nature, interesting people, and colour schemes.
What have you made recently?
The most recent thing I made was an introduction poster of myself for a new position working with children. I first selected a picture of myself and chose one from Vancouver. We were on a mountaintop and I had the Vancouver skyline behind me. It was a beautiful day and the picture turned out very nicely. Then I wrote out a little bio about myself on to cardstock. I found a sheet of cardstock that had a boho theme to represent myself and was green as well to match the picture. I picked out embellishments that matched, with green and flower themes. It wasn't a huge project but I was really pleased with the way it turned out and everything fit together. I think it represents me and I am very happy with the end result.
Where do you sell your crafts presently?
I have an etsy store and by word of mouth to family and friends.
Why are handmade crafts important to you?
My main reason is I like to support people doing what they love. I know that handmade artists are following their passions, and I want to be a part of that. I like knowing that my item was made by a real person and not a machine. I also like things that are different and not mass produced. You can find a lot of beautiful, unique items in the handmade market with great quality. There is also such a diverse range of products, you will always be able to find something you love.
