Lately, a lot of my ideas come to me when I’m starting to fall asleep. Whenever an idea pops into my head, I write it on down on my phone so I don’t forget. Sometimes when I want to make something and don’t have an idea, I just play around with my fabrics and it doesn’t take long for inspiration to hit.

I have one blue eye and one green eye. I don't think my body could decide on a color so it picked both!
I was born and raised in Las Vegas.
My dad's name is Michael Bolton, but he is not THE Michael Bolton. Yes, it's just like movie Office Space and just as painful.
I have an imaginary white Frenchie puppy named Blanche. One day, she will be mine!
What got you started crafting?
I learned to sew when I was 11. My mom thought it was important that my sister and I learned the basics of sewing and how to use a sewing machine, and that's what I got on my 11th birthday. I've always had a sewing machine, but it wasn't until a few years ago when I got into making items. I usually made gifts for my friends or remixed thrift store clothing. I think the combination of crafts becoming "popular" again and my mom always sewing as a hobby influenced me to make more items. It's also great that I had the basics of sewing already down so I could start creating my own designs right away. My mom was right about it coming in handy one day! Props to her.
What is your source of inspiration?
Just about everything. Observing people on the street, movies, music, magazines, and friends. Lately, a lot of my ideas come to me when I'm starting to fall asleep. Whenever an idea pops into my head, I write it on down on my phone so I don't forget. Sometimes when I want to make something and don't have an idea, I just play around with my fabrics and it doesn't take long for inspiration to hit.
What have you made recently?
Recently, I've been on a Valentine's Day/wine bag binge. Most of my humorous items are my wine bags and I think the idea of gifting wine lends itself to being more playful. I had the idea to hand-cut the letters "Lush" on a wine bag since I use that word so frequently (usually towards my good friends). I choose to do it in bright pink leather because I wanted the quality of the material to stand out and show it in a bright color so it went with the cheekiness of the word. To me, "lush" just seemed like it would be the color pink. I cut it in a bold font so the letters were clear and placed it on a neutral color background (made of durable upholstery) and bang, there you go. A wine bag a true lush would love!
Where do you sell your crafts presently?
I currently just sell my items on Etsy, but hope to be in some local SF stores soon!
Why are handmade crafts important to you?
I feel confident making and almost a comfort in handmade items because I was exposed to it at a young age. I grew up with a mom that always sewed and made items to use. When I see an item that someone made, I understand the effort and time that went into making it. You get a glimpse into someone else's thought process and you don't get that with a mass produced item. I think that's something to appreciate.
