Like many artists, my mind is literally always reeling. I am constantly bombarded with thoughts and ideas for a new piece. Though it may seem counterproductive, coffee actually seems to slow the incoming ideas, though I sometimes wonder if they just get shoved out of the way so quickly that they simply become intangible.

I Have freckles on my toes that match my husbands. As I child I thought they were brown marker and sometimes dirt.
I backpacked through Europe while I was 6 to 8 months pregnant with my first child, my son, Dorian.
Both of my children were born at home in a small birthing pool, also known as a glorified kiddie pool.
I dream of living self sufficiently with a large plentiful garden, preferably on the shore of Hawaii.
I have clairvoyant tendencies and I'm not afraid to admit it, my husband will assure you, it tends to freak him out.
What got you started crafting?
The need to escape and release. I describe my art and creations as an expression of internal nature. That which is within me, any creative energy or ideas, must be released in some way and at some time. If I do not allow that energy to flow out of me constructively, it will eventually boil to the surface.
What is your source of inspiration?
The beauty that surrounds me, whether it be in nature or in the faces and souls of people whom I meet throughout life. The ocean is source of refuge and great inspiration for me. The scents, colors, and emotion that can be found on and in the sea stir up a great deal of creative energy.
What have you made recently?
Ive begun a shift from very rustic items, to more refined sophisticated work. Rather than using unbleached natural cotton, I'm working with fancy fabrics like silk and satin. The most recent ring pillow I created is white satin with a gray ribbon and handmade pewter silk flower, I am in love with the colors and texture. The flower is very unstructured but it still feels very strong, yet feminine.
Aside from being completely hand made from start to finish, I like to think that the packaging makes my piece personal. I re use packing materials, so no two are alike. I also try to personalize my items for the recipient as much as I can. This is something that I wish people took advantage of more regularly.
Where do you sell your crafts presently?
Mostly on Etsy, but I also give many items as gifts to friends on special occasions. My items are dear to me, so, when I give something as a gift, I feel it is a special gesture and symbol of my love for that person.
Why are handmade crafts important to you?
Because someone has pour love and labor into it. Handmade goods are unique in and of themselves, no matter what it is. I believe that buying handmade is a form of preservation of culture. If society always bought items that were mass produced on a conveyor belt, we would lose the sacred nature of creationism. There is an undeniable energy of love in handmade items, it radiates and gravitates.
