In addition to jewelry, today’s featured crafter also works on her own line of makeup. It’s called Glamourdusts (love that name!). She mixes all the colors herself, and names them according to the inspiration behind the palette.
I have a dog named Poopsie.
My favorite show is I Love Lucy! (I even have a tattoo of cartoon Lucy and Ricky kissing on my back ;))
My hair has been almost every color of the rainbow...currently purple.
A weird fear of mine is large fish..I don't know why they freak me out!!
What got you started crafting?
I guess I've just always had a love for crafting. Art was my favorite subject basically from elementary school on. When I was younger I could spend hours and hours coloring in my coloring books or even drawing on sticks or rocks or whatever I could get my hands on. I kinda just always kept myself very busy with shapes and colors. Anytime I was in a bad mood or something bad happened to me it was always an escape for me and has been ever since. I dont remember when I first started doing jewelry all I know is I've been obsessed ever since and am always thinking of new ideas.
What is your source of inspiration?
Everything!! Nature, patterns, clothes, animals, other artists. Always think outside the box. Pretty much anything that catches my eye in some way can inspire me to make a piece.
What have you made recently?
I've recently been making a lot of feather jewelry. I've always had an adoration for feathers. I would draw peacocks all the time and since the trend just blew up recently I decided to start making feather jewelry of my own, because if I see something I like, I always want to see if I can improve on it and make it more of my own style. I also have been doing a lot of illustrations featuring my jewelry in them, which I think makes the pieces even more special.
Where do you sell your crafts presently?
I mostly sell my jewelry on my website. I've also done local craft shows and been featured in small boutiques.
Why are handmade crafts important to you?
Handmade jewelry is so much more fun. Its different than the norm and has flaws; good flaws; the ones that make them extra special and unique. Its also always something that you know someone put a lot of heart into.
