I’ve co-developed the crafter’s society on Facebook. I truly believe in building a camraderie with fellow crafters instead of a competition. It makes growing a business much more fun! We work together to grow together and I believe this philosophy can reach out to everyone.
They say it’s lonely at the top, it’s only lonely at the top if you step on people to get there!

My favorite quote is: "Everything will be ok in the end. If it's not ok, it's not the end."
I'm an only child, married to an only child
Me and Cher are the only two native american/Armenians I know of
I'm writing a non-fiction book on Ancient Astronauts
What got you started crafting?
I saw my friends making some stuff and selling them on Facebook. I thought to myself. "I can do that". I never thought I was a crafty person until I started. Now I'm the craft master. I still can't sew to save my life though. My craftiness involves everything that's not a needle and thread.
What is your source of inspiration?
EVERYTHING. Literally. I'm fortunate that I'm surrounded by immensely creative friends and clients. My clients are always giving me ideas of things to do and stuff they love. I love them! I get tons of marketing ideas though when I'm driving listening to music.
What have you made recently?
I'm getting ready for a huge jewelry Valentine's show. I've been planning it for months. Somehow my business theme became birds. I had no idea I liked all things birds until I started my jewelry business and realized everything I was making involved birds. That's where my "organic" comes from as part of the J. Pogo three. Bird nests, love birds, my logo has a bird and branch in it, lariat leaves, silver lariat with birds, sparrows on my nest. I even went so far as to get a tattoo of a dandelion blowing into the wind and turning into sparrows. So, of course, my debut jewelry event had to be bird themed.
I got some beautiful antique hexagon bird cages off of Ebay. They'll be my centerpieces at my Valentine show filled with lit candles. I got these dark willow branches (had to buy them since I live in Arizona) and am hanging crystal garland strings from them (To represent all the crystals in my line) and kept the colors organic. Muted browns, ivories, bordeux's, and creams. I'm very proud because I'm creating a night for couples to come shop, have a romantic time (I'll have champagne and strawberries, a fortune teller, henna artist, and some of my paintings on display) and give people an opportunity to experience my jewelry first hand
Where do you sell your crafts presently?
I sell on Facebook, Etsy, and am now expanding to trade shows next month!
Why are handmade crafts important to you?
I'm not only a firm believer in buying from small business, but I have gotten most everyone in my circle of friends to spread the word. I truly truly believe that small business is what will help our country get out of the bad economy, and believe that small business is the future industry that will change our view on things. Many of my friends bought mostly handmade/small business this Christmas and they came back with rave reviews. They truly enjoyed the shopping experience this Christmas and every gift was special. It truly is because you can feel the love that goes into the handmade products. They mean so much more.
