Although my daughter is the inspiration behind everything, she really is what DRIVES me to do what I’m doing. And of course, I couldn’t do any of it without my husband.
Joyce Diaz

I'm a stay at home mom to 1 beautiful little girl.
I love to make people laugh.
I'm a romantic at heart.
I'm ADDICTED to chocolate chip cookies! LOL!
What got you started crafting?
I've always loved to craft, but I actually started my crafting business once I had my daughter. My husband and I decided that I should be a stay at home mom. After 11 years in the corporate world, it was a BIG change for me...but I don't regret it one bit! I'm doing what I love...and what I love involves fabric, yarn, ribbon, lace and lots of bling!
What is your source of inspiration?
I always answer this question by saying, "My daughter". But I've come to realize that although my daughter is the inspiration behind everything, she really is what DRIVES me to do what I'm doing. And of course, I couldn't do any of it without my husband.
But I draw inspiration from so much more!
My shop is all vintage, shabby chic & Parisian inspired. I've heard so many opinions about shabby chic. Some say its dead...the era is over. Some say the term "Shabby Chic" is horrible. Others simply say it's "Old". Me? I say none of the above. I LOVE shabby chic!! It's beyond feminine, dreamy, flirty, cozy and so delicate!! Washed out whites, creams, greens, blues and pinks. Really?? How can one hate it? Distressed wood, iron furniture, gorgeous roses and how can we NOT forget the STUNNING chandeliers?? When you look at my designs, you'll see how much I love shabby chic.
For other pieces I draw inspirations from timeless actresses such as Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Ava Gardner, Ginger Rogers and so many more!
Another inspiration of mine is...Paris!!! I hope to one day travel to Paris. It's one of my top destinations to go to (I just need to get over my fear of flying!). I just love the romantic feel, the colors that come from french pastries, clothing and more! My designs are mostly named after French girls or something related to Paris.
And lastly, Marie Antoinette!!! Despite her history...her fashions were flawless!! Gorgeous colors...amazing fabric textures...lots of feathers...and LACE!!! If you're wondering...YES, I do have a love affair with lace. I think all of my designs in one way or another have a touch of lace!
What have you made recently?
I have recently starting designing mini top hats. Oh how I love them!!! Couture and fun!!! Perfect for newborn/toddler/children photography, bridal parties and even brides!!! Each of them are OOAK. Once sold, they will not be duplicated.
Where do you sell your crafts presently?
I sell all of my handmade items on Etsy.
Why are handmade crafts important to you?
Handmade to support small communities and individuals, items are not mass-produced, quality, unique product, and appreciation for and desire to support the creator and their trade.
How much better can it get than that? Buying handmade is a one of a kind experience. Each handmade item has a story, an inspiration, a connection to something. Knowing that you will be supporting an individual's creative endeavor, an artist - that in itself is priceless.
