I live in a beautiful part of England, Cornwall and I am inspired everyday by my wonderful surroundings.
Emma Skilton
I am also a samba dancer. I love to ski in New England. I could eat Thai curry every day. I have a shoe garden according to my husband.
What got you started crafting?
I have always made things since I was a child. I have been designing and making samba costumes for the past 7 years. Making bags seemed a good idea. Using the skills I have learned making costumes to make a beautiful item that is also practical.
What is your source of inspiration?
Carnival and glamour is my inspiration
What have you made recently?
A bespoke order forba client that wanted a bag to match her outfit colours.
Brown suede, gold lining with Kelly Green Rooster feathers and gold diamonte trim.
Where do you sell your crafts presently?
I sell direct to my clients through wedding fares, prom fares, my website and open studio where I work from.
Why are handmade crafts important to you?
It is important to me that my personality goes into my designs. I only do a few of each style so mass production is not practical. A lot of my orders are for clients that want an original design to match their outfit.
