Empha is custom-made streetwear from Germany!
I´m a wholeheartedly fashion designer and musician who tries to live her life the most pleasant way. My fashion label is my baby and I´m living for my business. Besides I´m a passionate musician and love playing theatre. In those two fields I can also bring in my passion for crafting. So I´m working as a costume designer for theatre productions and as a stylist and designer for young upcoming bands.
What got you started crafting?
I started crafting when I was 12 years old. Back then I started with friendship bracelets and crocheting caps. Later I started sewing my first garments. I remember that my first piece of clothing was a long skirt with "Burberry" pattern. Thinking back it was awful, but I learned sewing all by myself ;) By and by I created more and more garments for my friends and family. At he time I started my fashion studies at a fashion school in Mannheim/Germany I developed my idea of an own fashion label until in 2007 I established empha and in 2008 I released my first streetstyle collection.
What is your source of inspiration?
I´m a very attentive person, that walks through the world with her eyes wide open. So I´m inspired by everything that sorrounds me. My last collection I designed with an idea of a photoshoot.
What have you made recently?
The last things I crafted were new designs for my spelt-pillow animals. Especially in winter they are the perfect idea for gifting. I´m an animal lover and so I love creating those cute little designs. It makes me so happy when people see this pillows and start squeaking :)

Why are handmade crafts important to you?
When you buy handmade items you know where the stuff you´re buying is coming from. You can send your enquiries directly to the designer and in my case you can create your individual style.
