I think that having flowers in your house should be compulsory
What got you started crafting?
Flower arranging started out as a hobby, but now it is a serious addiction.
I just make flowery goodness for the hell of it.
For example.... what should i do today?
I know - I'm going to make a flower bomb!
What is your source of inspiration?
My materials. I just adore flowers! I'm also inspired by the joy i get from putting things together, especially with my co flower enthusiast mylee. I almost get a bit sad when one of my creations has nearly been created because then its over.. : (
What have you made recently?
Iced flower lanterns! You heard me!
FROZEN FLOWERS!!!
We had a full day of freezing anything and everything, including rose petal and lavender infused icy poles. For the flower lanterns we just got a few plastic tubs and filled them with an inch of water and placed some flowers and cherries in there, and then off to the freezer for a few hours.
After a surf and a cup of tea we whipped them out of the freezer and filled up the rest of the containers with more water and some food colouring and of course "the guest of honor" the flowers! (To make room for a candle, we placed another smaller container in the middle, so that the ice block would set with the circular hole in the middle.) And then back in the freezer over night.... I tell you, i couldn't sleep a wink all night, i was just so desperate to see the lantern! I have included the photo in this submission... you are probably crying your eyes out due to the extreme BEAUTY!! Need I say more?
Where do you sell your crafts presently?
I work as a freelance floral stylist doing weddings and events. On the odd occasion people contact me via my blog for flower crowns which are my specialty.
Why are handmade crafts important to you?
Well in my case. there is no other way to put flowers together than by hand!
Arranging things that grow from the earth is pretty special!
