My little sister (who is also my best friend) was born on my third birthday.
I used to live in a place called Worms.
I used to make fun of people with Snuggies. Now, I am addicted to one.
I have been known to eat mashed potatoes for breakfast.
What got you started crafting?
I first started crafting as a way to decorate my first apartment without having to spend a ton of money. My original media were canvas and acrylic paint.
I started cross-stitching, when a friend was getting rid of all of her embroidery floss and I decided to take it home with me to see what I could make of it.
What is your source of inspiration?
Color is my biggest inspiration. I love neutral backgrounds with lots of brightly colored accents.
What have you made recently?
I recently designed and cross stitched a hoop for a customer who purchased my "grab bag" cross stitch. Customers that purchase this are risk takers! I ask them questions about themselves to get a general idea of some things they might like. Then, I sit down and make a bunch of x's on my graph paper until I come up with something that I think they will like, but that is still true to my own style. I love this process because it takes me outside of my usual creative box and gives me a new source of inspiration - my client!
Where do you sell your crafts presently?
I sell my crafts on Etsy and have a couple craft fairs lined up for this coming summer...with hopes of more in the future!
Why are handmade crafts important to you?
I choose handmade because I know that these products are made with love. I know that the artist at the other end has spent their precious creativity and time to make something. I know that my money is going to support another artists business and their lifestyle. As an added bonus, handmade items are so much more unique than what you can find at big box stores.
