I LOVE animals and have a tendency to take in anything that needs a home:)
What got you started crafting?
I have been crafting since as long as I can remember. I come from a very creative family and my mother can create just about anything and has always kept me busy with different artsy activities. When I was 16 I got a job at a bead store and I was AMAZED that someone actually wanted to pay me to create jewelry all day! I loved every minute of that job and knew that's what I wanted to spend the rest of my life doing. So far, I'm dong exactly what I planned.
What is your source of inspiration?
I am obsessed with lampwork glass beads! Each one is so unique and its own little piece of art. I love creating things with a combination of lampwork beads and gemstones.
What have you made recently?
I recently made two wire wrapped gemstone bracelets to be sold exclusively on nest.com. It is an organization dedicated to helping women in other countries start and fund their own business. I created very earthy feeling bracelets but kept them a bit funky. I wire wrapped each bead and linked them together to make a very unique and vibrant bracelet.
Where do you sell your crafts presently?
I do different shows around Kentucky and Indiana, have a shop on etsy, promote like crazy on facebook and have recently started home parties which has been super fun!
Why are handmade crafts important to you?
I love how unique everything is! I like to stand out and be a bit different from the rest of the world and I think buying handmade gives you the chance to be as unique as possible. I also love knowing that I am helping support someone else's small business grow. I feel like handmade items have a bit more personality and originality to them.
